Farming Fundamentals

Farming Fundamentals is open for enrollment!
Designed for new and aspiring farmers, this self-paced online course provides practical, research-based education to help participants build a strong foundation in farm business management. Topics include enterprise selection, business planning, recordkeeping, budgeting, financial statements, marketing, and risk management. The course complements the hands-on assistance and educational programs offered through the local Extension office.
The course is available for $150 and is approved to meet the Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program (TAEP) Beginning Farmer educational requirement.

Twilight Pasture Walk

Where: Smelcer Farm – address to be emailed after registration.
Cost: Free
Join UT Extension & NRCS for a twilight pasture tour discussing pasture health, seeding guidelines and more! Address of location will be emailed to those who register for the event, dinner will be provided and private and commercial pesticide points will be available for those who are in attendance. Points fee will be $25 per point.
